Renewing The Cooperation Agreement And Embarking On A New Journey Of Vocational Education Along The Silk Road

 

At 10 am on July 2, 2025, Cambodia Regional Polytechnic Institute Techo Sen Battambang, Guizhou Vocational and Technical College of Water Resources and Hydropower and Yalong Intelligent Equipment Group successfully held a renewal meeting for the vocational education development cooperation agreement through an online platform.

At the meeting, Cheng Xiaohui, president of Guizhou Vocational and Technical College of Water Resources and Hydropower, first reviewed the tripartite cooperation process and fruitful results, and introduced the next focus of training work. She said that with the joint efforts of the three parties, the Yalong Silk Road College of Guizhou Water Resources and Hydropower in Cambodia will surely flourish and cultivate more outstanding and high-quality technical and skilled talents, adding luster to China-Cambodia education and friendship.

MR. CHHIM THOEUN, president of Regional Polytechnic Institute Techo Sen Battambang, pointed out that the tripartite cooperation has achieved fruitful results since 2018. With the renewal of the agreement, a new round of student training is about to start, and it is believed that the cooperation will be further improved.

Chen Chuanzhou, general manager of Yalong Group, said that he hopes that through the tripartite cooperation, the two sides can continue to vigorously promote the in-depth integration of international industry and education between China and Cambodia, serve international production capacity cooperation, and write a new chapter for the international development of vocational education. Yalong Group promotes the training of technical and skilled personnel in the countries along the "the Belt and Road" through an internationalized and innovative development model of industry-education integration. It shoulders the mission of "striving to bring technology and skills to more people around the world", and jointly builds the Yalong Silk Road College for domestic and foreign institutions to create an Industry 4.0 smart manufacturing learning workshop.

It is reported that in 2019, Guizhou Vocational and Technical College of Water Resources and Hydropower, Yalong Intelligent Equipment Group and Cambodia's Regional Polytechnic Institute Techo Sen Battambang signed an agreement to establish the China-Cambodia Silk Road College, setting a successful example of vocational education going overseas. 

Since its launch in May 2019, the "Yalong Silk Road College of Cambodia Battambang Polytechnic and Guizhou Water Resources and Hydropower Vocational and Technical College" has been actively responding to the "the Belt and Road" initiative and promoting the innovative development of international integration of industry and education. Through in-depth cooperation among the three parties in the field of vocational education, it has cultivated international technical and skilled talents in terms of professional teaching standards, professional curriculum standards, professional conditions and equipment standards, and professional evaluation and certification standards.

This meeting is not only a reunion of the three parties on the basis of good cooperation, but also marks that the partnership has entered a new stage of being more pragmatic, in-depth and sustainable. In the future, the three parties will continue to uphold an open and cooperative attitude, explore more cooperation possibilities, and jointly write a new chapter in China-Cambodia educational cooperation, becoming a model and benchmark for vocational education cooperation.
